Welcome to the Tone Zone - Types of classes

Group activity is better for you! Chances are if you go for a workout on your own you will not put as much effort in as you would if there was someone else there. Our timetable of fitness classes has enough variety to appeal to everyone. Our class leaders have years of experience and love telling you what to do. Feel free to drop in and pay on the day or as a Premier Member there is no additional charge to take part, come every day.

Yoga

Holistic exercise to harmonise mind and body. Yoga uses movement, breath, posture, relaxation and meditation to energise the body physically, mentally and spiritually.

Pilates

A holistic mat based exercise class that focuses on core postural muscles. This class will develop good body alignment and improve muscle tone and posture by stretching, strengthening and lengthening exercises.

Tai Chi

A relaxing form of exercise which has become associated with stress relief and health improvement. Tai Chi promotes natural correct posture and exercises the cardiovascular system. Strength is gradually increased, especially in the legs. Heart rate decreases, and circulation improves. Tai Chi not only benefits the body, but also the mind, increasing mental sharpness and self confidence.

Circuits

A good complete workout, combining aerobic activity to improve cardiovascular fitness and strength training to increase muscle tone. A very simple yet effective class that is easily adaptable to specific needs. N.B Contains no challenging choreography.

A class specifically designed for the young at heart, to maintain/increase mobility, flexibility, bone density and all round fitness and well-being. It is also a great way to meet new friends and keep you nimble in a fun and motivating environment. Altogether a very sociable workout.

Aquagym

This class provides a safe and effective workout due to the resistance that the water creates. This can help improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone and may allow those with joint problems to exercise more safely due to the support provided by the water.

This class has been designed to provide a total body workout. Using hand weights and resistance tubing to assist you in improving endurance, core strength and general fitness.
