Inspire Leisure has registered with the Social Enterprise Mark company and obtained the Social Enterprise Mark and is recognised as a business that is doing really extraordinary things in new and innovative ways.

The Government defines social enterprises as “businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.”

Social enterprises plough the majority of their profits back into activities that benefit people and planet, rather than just lining shareholders pockets. Inspire Leisure reinvests all its profits back into the Arun area.

'The Mark of Integrity'

You can trust the Social Enterprise Mark to show you businesses that have society and the environment at their heart. The Mark is supported by the Office for Civil Society. The Social Enterprise Mark Company is the only certification authority for social enterprises. Social enterprises have to prove they are genuine against a set of qualification criteria, which is overseen by an independent Certification Panel to ensure fairness and consistency.

Investors In People

UK Commission for Employment and Skills

Investors in People has grown to be the UK’s leading people management business improvement standard because it delivers improved performance to thousands of organisations. Currently almost seven million employees in over 35,000 organisations have achieved Investors in People recognition. 3,000 of these have been recognised for ten or more years!

Investors in People are a flexible and easy to use standard which helps organisations transform their business performance. Frameworks are outcome focused, outlining what organisations need to achieve, but never prescribing how. This flexible approach allows thousands of different employers of every sector and size to use the same framework.

Research from the Cranfield School of Management released in February 2010, found that effective implementation of Investors in People is a key driver when determining the performance of managers.

STAmark

Swimming Teachers Association

A quality standard, externally assessed by the Swimming Teachers Association in: Operational Standards, Customer care, Staffing and Management, Services Planning. Our score is currently the highest score in the country at 91%.

The Award has been designed to support continuous improvement, and is underpinned by a series of key principles including:

• A framework for sustaining continuous improvement
• Recognition of good industry practice
• Self-assessment as a 'tool' for service improvement
• A sector specific standard leading to industry endorsement of the swim school
• Externally validates PAS 81:2008

STAmark was created by STA to provide a framework that would support and encourage the raising of standards within this unregulated sector. The STA developed a quality accreditation programme that specifically addressed the business and operational needs of these swim school owners, in order to raise teaching standards, promote learn-to-swim schemes and ultimately give the public confidence in the swim school they attend.

Inspire Leisure has undertaken a self assessment process to demonstrate our current and future environmental commitments through the development of a Self Declaration of Environmental Commitment. 795 companies have registered to the Green Achiever Scheme.

As a Green Achiever member at Self Assessment level Inspire Leisure has taken a huge step in demonstrating our Green Credentials as we learn more about the environment, environmental impacts in general and the impacts of our business and community sector.
